CAMPING
ON THE QV RANCH DURING THE FESTIVAL

Camping
on the Ranch is probably the best way to experience the
magic of the Kerrville Music Festivals. Some of the best
music can be heard in the campgrounds 24-hours-a-day. We
have 20 acres of scenic and rustic Hill Country campgrounds
within walking distance of the outdoor theater and Chapel
Hill. We invite both tent and RV campers.
Food,
beer, soft drinks, coffee, and ice are available in the
campgrounds at the Kerr-try Store and the Kerr-Café.
Warm showers and clean (albeit primitive) toilet facilities are located
throughout the campgrounds. Firewood is usually available.
NO
PETS are allowed on the Ranch during the festival.
NO DRUMS are allowed during the festival.
NO FIREARMS OR CONCEALED WEAPONS!
NO GENERATORS!
NO DRUGS!
NO
STEREOS OR RECORDED MUSIC are allowed to be played
in the campgrounds
NO ONE UNDER 18 CAN BE ADMITTED WITHOUT PARENT OR GUARDIAN!

Tent
Camping
The campgrounds are somewhat primitive (as compared to a
State Park), but are pleasurable if you are prepared. Reservations
are not needed for tent camping as there are no designated
camp sites for tents. You simply set up anywhere in the
campgrounds where you find an inviting space and where you
feel comfortable. It can get a little “cozy”
in the campgrounds on the weekends, but the Quiet Valley
Ranch is one of the easiest places in the world to make
new friends. Simply respect each other and you will be in
for the time of you life.
It
is suggested that you bring some sort of erectable shade,
such as a canopy, since you never know if you will be able
to secure a spot with trees. The water on the ranch is potable,
but quite hard. You should therefore bring your own drinking
water. Other than the items mentioned above, you are free
to bring pretty much what-ever camping/cooking gear makes
you happy.
This
is fairly rugged Hill Country terrain so dress comfortably.
Shorts, t-shirts, a hat, and outdoor shoes usually do the
trick. Be prepared for rain! Afternoon thundershowers are
not uncommon. Some good rain gear, both for you camp site
and for your body can make a big difference!
Campground Access
You must have a festival ticket in order to camp or enter
the campgrounds during the festival.
Wristbands are required for access to the campgrounds after
6 p.m. Tent
camping/wristband fees are $5 per person per day (in addition to your
festival tickets), but if you have tickets for 3 or more
consecutive days then tent camping is free and you will be
automatically issued a wristband at no additional charge. All camping and vehicle
fees are payable at the gate.
Parking
Parking Lot fees are $3 per vehicle per day at the gate.
You may pay at either the ticket booth or at that parking
lot entrance.
Vehicles
in the Campgrounds
In order to have as much room for tents as possible, we
try to restrict the number of vehicles in the campgrounds.
For this reason, we charge $20 per day to keep your vehicle
(other then sleeper vehicles – see below) in the campgrounds.
You would, however, be able to take your car into the
campgrounds (with a $20 refundable deposit) and drop off
your gear and then park in the parking meadow (just
about 100 yards away from the campground gate).
Sleeper
Vehicles
RVs or trailers that set up in the campground without
hook-ups require a sleeper vehicle Permit. Other
obvious sleeper vehicles such as vans, p-u trucks with camper
shells, etc. (that don't need electricity or water) in the
campgrounds may also purchase a sleeper vehicle permit for a flat $20 (in addition to your
festival tickets) upon entry regardless of the length of
your stay. No additional camping charges would be
collected provided your vehicle doesn't leave the ranch
as it is an additional $20 for EACH re-entry. Sleeper
vehicles are, for the most part, to be considered as
"tents".
RV
Sites
We have 82 RV sites in the campgrounds. 56 of them have
full hook-ups and are $25 per day during the festival. The
remaining 26 sites have water and electricity only and are
$20 per day. There is a big demand for these sites during
the festival so advance reservations and restrictions apply.
