They will feature the name of the person you would like to remember, whether a survivor of cancer, like Penny Nichols and Michael Troy or someone who lost the physical battle like Allen Damron and Rachel Bissex, and/or the name of a personal friend or family member. You can also contact us at the office 830/257-3600 or email emily@kerrville-music.com or me, dalis@kerrvillefolkfestival.com to volunteer to walk, to donate or to order luminaries. The walk is May 5 from 6PM – 6AM. 

  Thanks to everyone who responded to our request for brochure distribution. We love your helping hands!  We’ll be sending more of them out as soon as we receive more from the printer.  Spread the Word!

  This weekend and next April 22 – 23 and 29 – 30, I will be in Houston running the Kerrville Folk Festival Stage at the Houston International Festival (www.ifest.org) . 2006 GRASSY HILL KERRVILLE NEW FOLK FINALISTS

Congratulations to the following New Folk Finalists for 2006.  These songwriters were chosen from 800 outstanding submissions we received from around the world.  Sixteen will play the two songs they submitted on Saturday, May 27 and sixteen on Sunday, May 28 during the New Folk Concerts.  This is the 35th year for New Folk and is always one of the highlights of the Kerrville Folk Festival.  Here's the list of finalists and the date they are scheduled to play:

From the May 27 and May 28 performances, the SIX 2006 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Winners will be selected by judges Jimmy LaFave, Pat Pattison, and SONiA and will be announced on Sunday, May 28 during the evening concert.    These six winners will be invited to return the following weekend to perform at the Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Winners concert on Sunday, June 4.

In addition to the above finalists, we selected six regional performers to appear at the BALLAD TREE to sing one of their songs on the dates indicated.
