Groovelily
is another one of those surprises for us that we
first heard at the 2000 Southwest Regional Folk
Alliance Conference. This joyously talented
trio from New York consists of Valerie Vigoda on
vocals and "viper" (a six-string, fretted
electric fiddle), Brendon Milburn on vocals and
keyboards, and Gene Lewin on percussion.
"In
a music scene as varied as Charleston's,
Groovelily's unique sound still manages to stand
out. Whatever path the band's takes, the members of
Groovelily seem determined to walk it in their own
way.--
